Effective July 1, 2024, Dr. Chauncey Malachi will begin serving as the Lead Teacher of the Alternative and Virtual Learning Programs for Chesterfield County School District. With a career spanning over 25 years in education, Dr. Malachi initially served as a 5th grade teacher before transitioning into the realm of school guidance. During the past five years of his professional journey, he has held administrative positions at the primary and high school level, most recently principal of Cheraw High School.

Effective July 1, 2024, Mrs. Karen Ellerbe will be serving as the Coordinator of Career and Technical Education for Chesterfield County School District. With over 26 years of experience in education, Mrs. Ellerbe's journey began as a Business Education teacher in Career and Technical Education at Cheraw High, where she dedicated 15 years. Throughout the last 11 years of her career, she has served as an administrator at both the school and district levels, most recently Director of Middle Schools and Interim Principal of New Heights Middle School.

We have been notified by Duke Energy the expected time for power restoration changed. Therefore, Chesterfield Area Schools will operate today on a normal schedule.

Lead Nurse, Shirlean Johnson, recently completed the SC School Nurse Leadership Program.
